With spring right around the corner, it’s the perfect opportunity to prep your home for the market!. We’re sharing a few time-tested tips to ensure your home is in top shape for selling.

Spruce Up Your Garden

Start with the basics. Mow your front and back lawn, tidy up any gardening supplies and tools and keep your hose out of sight. Once you’ve tidied, get creative by adding colourful flower planters by your entrance for a burst of colour!

First impressions are key to selling, and your entrance and garden are the first areas of the home potential buyers will see. Even a mowed lawn goes a long way!

Clean Floors and Windows

Every area of your home should sparkle and shine, and that goes especially for surfaces like floors and windows. Glass and laminate flooring, for instance, tend to reveal dust and fingerprints more clearly, so it’s crucial to scrub, polish and mop till they shine.

Apply a Fresh Coat of Paint

The last thing you want is for buyers to walk through your home and see chipped or dull paint. Add a fresh coat to any area that needs an instant facelift! If a room is painted in an outdated colour, change it up with a neutral shade to give your home a contemporary feel.

Deal With Odors

Odors can be detrimental to any sale. Make sure every room of your home is free of odors from pets, cooking etc. Rugs, carpets and fabrics tend to store odors the most, so if possible, have large rugs cleaned professionally before a showing. Take time to air out your home by opening windows, and decorate with fresh flowers.

Accessorize With Style

When it comes to accessorizing, all you need are a few simple touches to brighten up a space and give it style! When in doubt, you can’t go wrong with chic throw pillows and plush towels in the bathrooms and kitchen.

There you have it! Ready to sell and looking for your next dream home? We’d love to chat!
